Arribes del Duero

Arribes del Duero
Picture of Arribes del Duero (Salamanca)
Date: Sep-2008
Camera: Sony DSC-H5
Comments: Las Arribes in the province of Salamanca or Los Arribes in the province of Zamora is a region of the autonomous community of Castilla y León, Spain. The common characteristic defining this territory is to be the Duero river and this, in turn, the natural border between Spain and Portugal, known to the international section of the river with the popular nickname of La Raya (The Dash). Its boundaries do not correspond to any administrative division, but with a historical and touristic designation. Coincides roughly with the old district of La Ribera in the province of Salamanca, Duero extending up to include the municipalities bordering the river in the region of Sayago, in the province of Zamora.
