Comments: Luz-Saint-Sauveur is a commune located in the Pyrenees, crossed by the Gave de Gavarnie and the Gave du Bastan rivers, which join near the town to form the Gave de Pau. It is built on the morainic cone of the Yse, which flows into the Gave du Bastan up to the villa. Flooding has been a constant in the history of the community because of this situation, but were reduced during the s. XX by building levees.
