Update March 18: Noel mentions he has changed plans. HF bands are extremely noisy here and almost unusable: S9 noise everywhere, so he can decode only very strong stations. By chance, he could install a little QO100 Sat station, so is giving out new country and new square to many Sat users ! You can find recent pictures and info here.

Noel F6BGC is active as 8Q7NC from Maldives Islands 12 to 21 March 2020.

The Communication Authority of Maldives gave me the callsign : 8Q7NC , the same I received in my precedent Suitcase DX-peditiion !

My 2020 location is Veligandu Island in Rashdoo Atoll.

The station is be very simple:  Icom IC7300  100W , Icom tuner AH4 and Alinco switching PS.

The home made vertical antenna is a fishing rod, about 10m up, installed on the water bungallow with lots of radials. I log qso using win-test.

All my  "Suitcase Expedition" are an opportunity to spend good time with my family, and I turn on the radio from time to time, alternating with seaside activities.

I try to be active from 3.5 to 28 MHz, depending on conditions,  on all modes : SSB, CW and Data.

On the island the internet access is limited, but sometime I am able to connect a cluster, so listen the bands and  monitor the cluster. Thanks for sending some spots if you happen to hear me.

There are 4 hours delay with Europe, and night falls near 18h00 local time, 2:00 p.m. in Europe,so it is easier to contact me in the morning and at noon.

To send any information, my way, please contact Philippe F1ADG or Jean Louis F5DJL, they always find a way to inform me.

QSL Policy  : LOTW, or QSL direct to F6BGC.

For 2020 , I  answer to all direct QSL with SAE and Green Stamp (s). Please wait few weeks after return to allow a delay for printing cards.

I already replied to all direct QSL received for 2007, 2010 , 2013 & 2016. All 4 logs have been uploaded to LoTW  I also uploaded 2016 activity on ClubLog.

Youtube: QSO with 9W2DI / QRP on 10 meters Listen to this very nice QSO on 28MHz with Din 9W2DI who was qrp with 5W in a loop from Malaysia.   Recorded in 2010

Thanks to:
Philippe F5SDT to the superb QSL design,
Mrs Hamid Mausooma [Communications Authority of Maldives]
for his help and advice that allowed me to get the license.
