Information

Update February 10, 2023:  Video available.

Update November 1, 2022: TY0RU went QRT yesterday with 124,000 QSO in the log. They are in their way to Togo where they will join RA1ZZ and R5EC that are already operating from there.

Update October 26, 2022: The operation is close to its end and they will move to 5V7RU. Very high winds badly damaged various antennas.

Update October 24, 2022: Today, the bar of 100,000 QSOs was overcome, an intermediate goal was achieved. On this occasion, work on the air was suspended for a short time and the entire team for the first time during the entire expedition gathered at the table to symbolically mark this event. We also congratulated Ilya R5AF on his baptism of fire. Unfortunately, tomorrow morning he will leave us and return to Moscow.

The on-air mode switches to light mode, but the expedition does not end there. The main task is to solve the issue of low frequency reception and in recent days to focus on work on these bands.

RW8A and R9LR also returned from Togo tonight. As a result of their trip, a suitable QTH was found for the second stage of the 5V7RU expedition and more than 100 QSOs were made via the QO-100 satellite.

Update October 22, 2022: RW8A and R9LR have left to Togo to find a suitable QTH and make sure there is no local interference. Also, Vladimir R9LR plans to be active via the QO-100 satellite with the expedition callsign 5V7RU, since he will not be able to be present during the main activation and will have to return home on October 25.

Update October 18, 2022: 6m antenna has been installed and running.

Update October 12, 2022: RA1ZZ and RW8A are in Benin and heading to the QTH.

Update August 8, 2022: The team is ready for the trip. More than 600 kg of equipment is ready at the base in Moscow.  RW8A and RA1ZZ will be in Benin as early as October 12 to check the QTH for local QRM, expect signals by then.

Update August 7, 2022: Their schedule is as follows:
October 11th -- Two Team Members Fly Out to Check QTH for Interference
October 13th -- Start of the expedition. The main part of the Team gathers in Moscow and flies to Benin
October 14-26th -- Installation of working positions, start of work on the air
October 27th -- QRT, folding positions, preparing for the team's relegation home

This is the same group who activated 7P8RU, 7Q7RU, A25RU and E44RU. Current operators mentioned are Vasily/R7AL, Vlad/R9LR, Vasily/RA1ZZ, Andy/RT2O, Slave/RW8A, Leo/RW9JZ, Igor/R2BZ and Ilya/R5AF. Team leaders are Vasily/RA1ZZ and Vasily/R7AL. The team will have 9 radios available with antennas, and will be on 160-6 meters, including 60m, using CW, SSB and FT8 (N/M & F/H). They will also make QO-100 satellite contacts.

QSL Manger is Vasily/RA1ZZ. All expedition logs will be uploaded to ClubLog (direct or by the Bureau) and LoTW with fast upload to LoTW for donors and sponsors. For sponsors and donors,  QSLs will be sent to their address automatically
