Information

Update February 21: We are now QRT from here. My kids have arrived so its sightseeing time as usefull moon time limited.
Last day had serious QRM problems on FM from taxis etc from S21 land all over the band at s9. No hams of course.
By lunchtime tropo had increased across the bay of Bengal (10 on Hepburn) , was alerted by BC band full of Indian music. Endless pileup of VU2/3stations on FM from Chennai (Madras) area,, most of them using hand-helds.
73' for now.

Update February 15: Now in OJ39ew. Had a 12V PS failure which seems to be down to mains spikes looking at the damage to the primary switching section and input filter. I have an identical spare so lets hope it survives, I hope to be on after 0100z on the 16th. More info later

Update January 31: Info regarding the 2m EME activity: "We decided to stay a few days longer and avoid heading into the main city for current reasons.
Will QRT here (OK41FV) at MS on 02-Feb. We then leave for the coast.
226 Q's so far but missing many regulars.
Moon is overhead now so azimuth and polarity is changing very quickly.
Seems we have 9 x 1-Y stns in the log so far and hrd at least 2 more.
Some extraordinary tropo from here with 9V, DU on FM and some 68 Q's (incl. dupes) at >4000km to JA. Nice to see FT8 has not gone crazy yet in JA, a lot of CW/SSB still. Seems we can work BY coastline pretty much any time of day + hrd VR2 on FM several times but simply cannot break.
We are ~1200km ASL and can see an inversion NE thru S direction on most mornings, I am blocked to the North some 20km away by the highest mountain peak in this region at 2167m.
I will advise in advance before next activity, expect mid-Feb."

XV9F QRV various locators Jan/Feb. Currently OK41fv.
QRG 144.141.
I will attempt to be on every day and in particular at EU MR.
Remember this is a holiday operation. More info later.

Occasionally QRV on HF, main activities are 6m, 2m and 70cm including EME.
