Update January 13: Logs uploaded to Clublog
Update January 9: Today, with the help of friends and colleagues from Israel, as well as materials from the market and local garage, the team were able to put up 2 GP on 40m and 20m. Most of their coax was in bags and not checked at customs, unlike antenna parts and masts, so they will now try to somehow build masts for other bands using electrical wire recently bought at local market. At the moment there are two radios running FT8 and CW.
Update January 8: Unfortunately, the E44RU team hit a problem at customs whereby mast and antenna parts were retained and will be only be released upon departure. Earlier today the team were looking for shops with fishing rods and electrical wire. However, some equipment made it through customs and they are QRV on 80-40-30-20m so far.
“Russian Robinsons” plan their next expedition. This time they’ll QRV from Palestine as E44RU with strong focus on low bands during January 6-14, 2020.
