Information |
Christian F8HJV, Fred F5OZK and Paul F4DVT will activate TM74IDL on the island of the Levant (reference IOTA: EU-070) on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, as part of the celebration of the 74th anniversary of the landing of Allied troops in Provence on August 15, 1944 .
As part of the islands of Hyères (Porquerolles, Port-Cros, Ile du Levant), the island of Levant is in the Mediterranean, about fifteen kilometers off the towns of Lavandou and Bormes-les-Mimosas; it is part of the territory of the commune of Hyères (83 - Var), of which it constitutes the most eastern part; It occupies an area of 1001.9 hectares, most of which is occupied by the military field. It is a place steeped in history, from ancient times to contemporary times.
The team plans an activity on the bands 40 and 80 meters in CW and voice; the equipment will consist of a Kenwood® TS-2000 transceiver and a W3DZZ antenna; QSL via the Sevran Radio Club F5KKD.
