Update November 29: by Antoine 3D2AG — Sailing for Rotuma is now confirmed (weather permitiing) for the 14th of December. Arriving on the island on the 16th December around midday, I expect to be setup (for lower bands 80m, 40m and 30m at least) by the evening of the 17th and the Spiderbeam for HF and vertical for TB should be up by the 18th/19th. A 5-el 6m yagi will also be setup. Return is around the 12th January, again weather permitting as we will be into our southern hemisphere cyclone season by then. There will be NO internet so will not be able to read any messages about being in the log or not etc. Logging for CW has always been on paper logs and will remain so this time, so I will have no electronic logs to upload after the expedition aside from FT8 contacts to Club Log (no LoTW). More details on the 3D2AG/p QRZ.com page.
Update November 18: Antoine, 3D2AG,reports: "The ship originally scheduled to depart Suva for Rotuma on the 23rd November has inexplicably (and at two days' notice only) been brought forward to the 16th of November! As this is too early because of QRL and other preparations, there will be a delay in the start of the operation.
There are a number of other options being looked at, sailing either towards the end November or early December. News will be updated here as soon as it comes to hand."

The next 3D2AG/p Rotuma Island one-op Dxpedition is planned around the 28th November 2019 to January 5th 2020, weather and transport permitting. Latest shipping news is that a boat shall depart Suva around the 25th of November. Focus will be on low bands including 160m, 80m and 60m, with QRO when required. Beware of pirates impersonating the Rotuma expeditions, especially in EU! There will be NO internet access during the expedition; FT8 logs will be uploaded to ClubLog AFTER the expedition and CW/SSB/RTTY contacts will be recorded on paper logs as customary for this OP. Efforts are being made now to source a backup generator, fuel and pack antennas / gear ready for the end of the month.
