Update September 19, 2026:  ⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE FOR LOGGING & DECODING in FT8 mode - 6W/IK2HKT

Please read this brief guide if you see strange characters or <...> when decoding my signal.

The Problem: Due to the length and structure of my callsign (6W/IK2HKT), some software (like older versions of WSJT-X or JTDX) might display it inside brackets as <...> or truncate it during digital transmissions.

Recommended Software: For the best decoding experience and to avoid any issues with compound callsigns, I highly recommend using MSHV (version 2.76 or newer) or the latest updated versions of your preferred FT8 software.

Fox & Multi-Slot Operation: When I operate in Multi-Slot (Fox) mode, please ensure your software is correctly configured for Hound mode. If you use MSHV, make sure your multi-slot decoding is active to track all streams.

 How to Log Me: Please ensure your logging software records my full and correct callsign: 6W/IK2HKT.

 Do Not Edit Manually: If your software automatically decodes the full callsign after a few sequences, let it process naturally. Do not log the literal brackets <...>. 

Update September 15, 2026: Dates set to October 28 to November 9, 2026.

Members of The Italian DXpedition Team will be active as 6W/I2YSB (CW, SSB, RTTY) and 6W/IK2HKT (FT8) from Senegal in October/November 2026 (The exact dates will be published late).

Operators mentioned are: Elvira/IV3FSG, Tony/I2PJA, Oscar/IK2AQZ, Alfeo/I1HJT, Silvano/I2YSB, Franco/I1FQH, Stefano/IK2HKT and Angelo/IK2CKR.

They plan to have 5 active stations with 5x Elecraft K3, 4x HAL 1200 amplifiers and 1x Elecraft KPA 500.

Antennas are: 5x Yagi for 6m, 1x 30m loop, 1x 60m vertical, 1x 80m vertical, 1x 160m vertical, 2x 40m verticals and 3x Hexbeams for 6 bands.

Suggested frequencies using the following callsigns are:
                        6W/I2YSB  -- 160-6m (CW, SSB and RTTY
                        6W/IK2HKT -- 160-6m (FT8)
