Update August 29, 2026: Earlier this week, we held a Zoom meeting with the Alexander Selkirk park ranger and representatives of the island's fishermen.

The purpose of the meeting was to continue planning the logistics required to transport our expedition equipment from Robinson Crusoe Island (IOTA SA-005) to Alexander Selkirk Island (IOTA SA-101).

Moving all of our equipment to Selkirk will be one of the major logistical challenges of this expedition, given the island's remote location and difficult terrain.

A second shipment of expedition cargo has now been sent to the port of Valparaíso. This first shipment includes non-perishable food supplies, together with part of the camping equipment we will need during our 10–12 day stay at the shelter.

We have also included a VHF marine-band antenna and 20 meters of Belden 9913 coaxial cable with the necessary connectors, this equipment will be installed by us  upon our arrival on Selkirk and will then be donated to the local fishermen.

This contribution will help improve their VHF communication system and, without a doubt, provide better communication between the island base and the fishing boats during the fishing season.

Moisés, CE3VTZ, and I have decided to donate this communication equipment as a small gesture of appreciation for the tremendous assistance, cooperation and logistical support we have received from the island's fishermen and local community in helping us get our expedition cargo to Alexander Selkirk.

There are still several important items that need to be purchased and shipped before our departure. Among them is a 3-element antenna for the 6-meter band, currently being built by Moisés, CE3VTZ.

We also still need to purchase and ship additional camping equipment, drinking water and other personal supplies required for our operation.

For this reason, we would like to make a special appeal to all IOTA chasers, DXers, clubs and friends around the world who would like to help us complete the final stage of the logistics for this expedition.

Every contribution, regardless of its size, will be greatly appreciated and will directly help us make this Dxpedition reality.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the DX groups, foundations, clubs and organizations that have already decided to support this expedition.

Moisés/CE3VTZ and Felipe/XQ7IR will be QRV as XR0Z from Alexander Selkirk Island (IOTA SA-101) for approximately 10 days during October. Activity will be on 160-10m, using CW, SSB and FT8. Suggested frequencies and modes:

Pile Up considerations:

- CW Split operation will be always 1 - 3 KHz UP
- SSB Split operation will be always  10 to 15 KHz UP.
- FT8 operation MSHV Rx 200-3000 Hz, always two or three streaming.
