Update May 3, 2026: One of the most challenging bands in amateur radio is the 6-meter band, due to its unpredictable behavior and variable propagation conditions. For this reason, a 3-element Yagi antenna will be incorporated for the 6-meter band, which will allow us—if conditions permit— to activate this attractive band, highly sought after by radio amateurs.

Update April 25, 2026: The equipment to be used has been confirmed.

    ICOM IC-7300 – 100 watts
    Yaesu FT-891 – 100 watts

Both radios will be used in standard operating mode, allowing operation on different HF bands depending on propagation conditions.

I am pleased to inform you that during June 2026 I will be active from Rapa Nui with the callsign 3G0YM.

During this expedition, I will operate on the 6, 10, 20, and 40-meter bands, depending on the propagation conditions prevailing on the island. Activity will be in FT8 and SSB (Self-Speaking Side-by-Side) modes.

Although this activation will take place in a festive atmosphere, the goal is to maximize my presence on the air and provide as many contacts as possible to the DX community.

It will be an honor to have you participate in this second operation from this iconic and remote Pacific island.
