Update April 17, 2026: Since early April, intensive preparations have been underway for our trip to Kosovo. One of the steps was setting up three antennas that we planned as the main ones. The antennas have been assembled, adjusted and tested. There is also a dish for QO-100. The antennas are ready to go.
We set up each antenna for testing. We reviewed the assembly instructions, verified that all components were present, and most importantly, connect the antennas to the radio to check for proper operation. The SWR measurement results are positive, and the resonances are on the band, so we believe this part of the equipment is ready and is currently in storage awaiting packing.
Planned TX-RX antennas:
1. Spiderbeam 20-17-15-12-10m
2. Hexbeam
3. Vertical GP-5SP low bands
The antennas listed above will serve as our primary antennas. We plan to bring the following additional items (space permitting):
1. Simple GP 160m/80m – Spiderbeam fiberglass 18m
2. Simple GP 40m – homemade
As receiving antennas, we plan to bring the BOG and 4SQ HiZ antennas system.
We have also antenna for a radio operation using the QO-100 geostationary satellite. It is an offset with a helical active element at 2.4 GHz and a satellite converter from DXPatrol.
This upcoming weekend, we plan to pack up so we’ll be ready to leave on Monday, April 20th.
Vy 73 from the team.
The Polish DXpedition to Kosovo 2026 will take place from Grashticë/Pristina, Kosovo, on April 23-28, 2026. Team members mentioned are: Rafal/SQ2IHP (SSB/Digi), Maciej/SP2RBA (SSB/Digi), Robert/SP1D (CW/SSB), Arek/SP2AS (SSB/Digi), Darek/SP2R (CW/RTTY) and Darek/SP2HQY (SSB/Digi). Activity will be on various HF bands (160–10m), using CW, SSB, RTTY and FT8. They will be active during the SP DX RTTY Contest (April 25-26th). If time and technical conditions allow, activity on 6m and via QO-100 satellite is also planned.
QSL Details:
"We will be using ClubLog as our main platform during our activities in Kosovo. You’ll find the latest logs there. If possible, we plan to set up a livestream. Once the operation is over, we’ll activate OQRS. You can also be sure that the logs will be uploaded to LoTW shortly.
Here are a few rules for you.
1. Please do not send us YOUR QSL cards.
2. OQRS Online Request System for direct QSL and bureau cards.
Paper QSL cards will only be available for order through OQRS. OQRS will be available for a limited time and will be made available after we return to Poland.
OQRS will be available for 3 months after its launch. After that time, it will no longer be possible to order paper QSL cards. Paper cards will be sent as soon as possible.
Fees will be charged for the mailing of QSL cards by the bureau and for direct QSL. The amount will depend on the production and distribution costs.
3. LoTW – Full log will be uploaded after DX-pedition.
4. Busted and missing calls or not in log reports only via OQRS. We will research the log and contact you after the DX-pedition.
During our activity from Kosovo, we plan to launch a live stream via ClubLog. It all depends on the quality of the internet connection we have at our QTH. If the connection is poor, logs will be updated once a day.
