Update May 10, 2026: The 3X3A QSL cards are on their way!
Roume Island was not just a DXpedition. It was an experience that stays with you: the heat, the exhaustion, the endless nights on the radio, the constant pile-ups… and above all, the emotion of hearing the whole world calling “3X3A”!
Thank you all for every QSO, for your patience during difficult moments, for your kindness, and for the energy you brought to this DXpedition in Guinea.
Every contact was not just a QSO, but a piece of this story we lived together.
And now, as the QSLs begin to go out, what truly remains is the memory of having shared something unique on the bands.
We’ll hear each other again soon, somewhere on the bands…

Update April 25, 2026: Final greetings from Roume Island
There is always a moment, at the end of a DXpedition, when everything slows down. And that moment has arrived.
Tonight, April 25, will be the last “on the air” night. Then I will start taking down the antennas, and this experience in Guinea will remain as memory and radio waves. Two intense weeks, with continuous pile-ups and propagation that was not always easy. But also a strong emotion: bringing the 3X prefix on 60 meters for the first time and hearing you emerge from the noise.
Thank you for looking for me, waiting, and listening—even when I was just barely there.
73 de Elvira, 3X3A
Update April 25, 2026: What an incredible night here on Roume Island!
Despite the daily battles with the generator and the heavy tropical noise, the "Top Band" gave us a wonderful gift last night.
Hearing your signals breaking through the QRN on 160m was pure magic. I know that for many of you, 3X3A was a "New One" on 160 meters.
Seeing your excitement on the clusters and receiving your messages makes every bit of dust, sweat, and lack of sleep worth it.
The FT8/MSHV mode allowed us to manage the pile-up even when propagation seemed to fade.
We are reaching the final stretch—the DXpedition will wrap up on the 25th—but as long as the generator is running and the antennas are up, I’ll be here for you.
Log update: Check ClubLog to see if you made it into the log!
Thank you all for your patience and for supporting this Guinean adventure.
See you on the air for the final sprint!

Update April 24, 2026: Tomorrow, April 25th, my adventure here on Roume Island will come to an end. It has been an intense two weeks filled with heavy pile-ups, challenging propagation conditions, and the joy of connecting with so many friends from every corner of the world.
I am about to begin my final hours of operation: I’ll be doing my best to get as many of you as possible into the log before I start taking down the antennas.
Thank you all for your incredible support, your patience during the QSB, and the warmth you’ve shared with me over the airwaves.
Catch you on the air for the final sprint!

Update April 23, 2026: There is something truly magical about the 160m band...
After spending hours fine-tuning my Inverted L, I finally hit the airwaves tonight!
The greatest satisfaction? Seeing that they can read me and—believe it or not—having an almost non-existent noise floor.
The "Top Band" was incredibly generous tonight, making every minute spent on tuning totally worth it.
See you on the air! 73 to all.
Update April 21, 2026: A NIGHT OF FIRE ON 60 METERS: 3X3A MAKES HISTORY FROM GUINEA!
The 60m band (5 MHz) shook tonight! For the first time ever, the 3X prefix hit this frequency, and the pileup was literally overwhelming.
Being the first to bring Guinea into the air on 60m is an incredible feeling. I managed a relentless flow of calls: signals coming from everywhere, electrifying propagation, and the satisfaction of having given a "New One" to so many OM friends around the world.
A heartfelt thanks to those who had the patience to wait their turn amidst the chaos of signals. Guinea is officially on the 60m map, and tonight will be etched in the logs!
Stay tuned... and keep an eye on RealTime! 73 de Elvira 3X3A
Update April 19, 2026: In Guinea, when the noise rises and propagation seems to betray us, the voice goes silent... but my radio doesn't.
I use FT8 to "break through" the silence and ensure the 3X3A signal reaches your stations, even when it seems impossible.
It's not just digital: it's the challenge of always being there, for each of you, beyond any physical limit. See you on the waterfall!
Thank you all and keep an eye on RealTime,
73 de 3X3A
Update April 17, 2026: Update from Roume Island!
Hello everyone from Roume Island!
Yesterday evening finally fired up the engines on 80m FT8, and the pile-up was absolutely incredible. it’s a real pleasure to hear so many friends on the air.
Thank you all for your patience if the signal suddenly drops... electricity here is definitely an optional luxury!
