My first stop for amateur radio operations during my circumnavigation voyage will be the Marquesas Islands (FO/M).
I recently applied for the callsign FO/VA7YM through the French Polynesian radio authority, and I’m happy to share that it has just been approved.
The current plan is to depart La Paz, Mexico in late March or early April, cross the Pacific, and complete entry formalities at Nuku Hiva. After clearing in, I will sail south to Ua Pou, where I plan to begin more active on-air operations. My station authorization is valid from April 23rd to July 20th, and I expect to be somewhere in French Polynesia until around mid-July.
I look forward to making many contacts from the Marquesas and other islands along the way.
