Update September 7, 2025: He checked his antennas and it seems that the 10m yagi will tune on 6m band with SWR 1:1.8. Therefore, he will try 6m sometime especially to Japan. He asks you send him an email if you see an opening between VK2/VK4 and Japan.
Update September 2, 2025: On 3rd September, Janusz plans to remove the 15m yagi and to place a 10m yagi on the same mast. Thus, all who need 15m contact keep trying. After 3rd there will be no more 15m in use.
Update August 8, 2025: I will use multichannel (Fox/Hound) or SuperFox mode on frequencies listed (See Below).
Due to the internal coding algorithm, the WSJT-X software can have some operational issues with longer and compound callsigns (VK2/SP9FIH). The SuperHounds may see something like: < . . . > in place of a callsign, or perhaps even a totally different callsign. (The software uses a 10-bit hash algorithm on the callsign, and it may resolve to some other callsign that hashes to the same value). Please do not be confused if you see strange callsign on your display.
Janusz, SP9FIH, is planning to be active as VK2/SP9FIH from Lord Howe Island from August 27 to September 13, 2025. He states, "Lord Howe is a small island with short runway, therefore passenger baggage is limited. That means I will work only on a few upper bands." He is taking a survey "Which bands from Lord Howe do you need?" on his Web page. Current suggested frequencies are:
SSB -- 10127*, 14237, 18137, 21237, 24937 and 28437 kHz
FT8 (FH/SF) -- 10145, 14091, 18091, 21091, 24925 and 28091 kHz
* Janusz states, "Yes, in Australia SSB is allowed on 30m band!"
Online log will be available on ClubLog. Direct OQRS request for QSL will be uploaded to LoTW within few days. Bureau requests will be uploaded after 12 months. Paper QSLs will be sent after his return home. Janusz is looking for sponsors.
