A team from the Paisley Amateur Radio Club will be embarking on a "Scottish West Coast Amateur Radio Expedition" to the west coast island of Eilean Buidhe over the weekend of 1st to 4th November 2024.
The location, Buidhe Island (pronounced Buie) is one of Scotland’s smallest inhabited islands, 14 miles due south from the west coast town of Oban. The five member crew will operate a multiple station setup, primarily HF voice with transmissions from 80 to 10 meters, but also FT8 and CW. They hope to activate a local SOTA peak during the weekend too, weather permitting.
The operators will be Julian/GM7MTK, Brian/MM1HMZ, Gavin/MM7GMS, Eric/GM5RDX and Chris/2M0NZB. The boys will be operating with the Scottish club callsign GS0PYM - they plan to operate 24 hours a day across the whole weekend.
