Update August 18, 2024: The E51EME QRZ.com listing has been updated with the specifics of this second trip, and the latest antenna news.
Hopefully there will be a significant improvement in the 6m EME results with the new antenna system!
(We had reasonable success via EME at VK9N/ZL1RS with a similar antenna array in 2012).
Depending on various factors, the 6m EME operation may be extended a few more days into September.
However, due to obstructions at moon rise by then, we can only be QRV via EME for the E51 moon set 'windows'.
73, Bob ZL1RS
Bob ZL1RS will be QRV again from Rarotonga, Cook Islands as E51EME from August 23 to September 15, 2024. He will be mainly active on 6m FT8 but sometimes may check 10m propagation too. His equipment as follows:
6m station – IC705 + HB 1kW PA + 2 x 3el Yagi stack (FT8 and Q65-60A ‘normal mode’ for 6m EME)
10m station – IC705 (QRP 10W) + wire antenna.
QSL via LoTW and paper QSL cards will also be available via ZL1RS.
