Information

Update June 18, 2024: Due to unforeseen circumstances, including recent QSB (fading signals) and QRM (interference) experienced at our QTH (station location), particularly during Borneo Island’s unpredictable weather (think dramatic cloud formations and heavy thunderstorms), we’ve had to make some adjustments.

The revised plan will likely incorporate the 40 meters, 20 meters and WARC bands, specifically 12 meters, 17 meters, and 30 meters. Additionally, exciting news for RTTY (Radio Teletype) operators: the new 9M1Z band plan will embrace RTTY mode!

The revised plan will be officially announced and put into effect within 1-2 days. Let’s work together to navigate this change. We wish you all the best on the airwaves, and look forward to connecting soon!

Update June 17, 2024: Since its official launch on June 15th, 9M1Z has taken the amateur radio community by storm. Enthusiasm has been building for the past two days, with stations from all corners of the globe tuning in. Today, June 17th, coinciding with Eid al-Adha, activity may take a slight pause

Operations may resume later today or on June 18th local time. Regardless, a heartfelt congratulations to the impressive 1,920 stations already logged – and there are still 13 exciting days to come!

Update June 11, 2024: Bandplan and timetable available:

9M1Z is the callsign of a Malaysian DXpedition team planning to be active from Sabah (9M6) & Sarawak (9M8) on June 15-30, 2024.

This particular activity is with a view to staging a full-scale DXpediton to the Spratly islands later in 2025 or 2026 – note Pulau Layang Layang resort is currently closed longterm for maintenance.

9M1Z will QRV on 80-6m; SSB, CW & FT8.

QSL via ClubLog, OQRZ & LoTW.
