Update January 15, 2026: It has been reported that Chas, NK8O, will be again in the Chihoni Medical Center in Dodoma, Tanzania, from January 17 to February 17, 2026.  He will be active as 5H3DX on 30-10m (CW, SSB, PSK31 and FT8).

Update September 11, 2025: Without much time for amateur radio this trip, we have seen tremendous progress on Chihoni Medical Center. Considering that construction began only 6 1/2 months ago, the progress is truly remarkable. Our expectation of opening the facility this month was opto- mistic, I am nonetheless pleased. Our logo is "many hands working together," surrounding Africa, with Tanzania highlighted.

Update August 16, 2025:  Chas, NK8O will be QRV again on 30-10m (CW, SSB and Digital) from Dodoma, Tanzania as 5H3DX on September 1-23, 2025.

Update January 26, 2025: Chas works for International Health Partners and is planning to return to Tanzania in April/May of this year. He hopes to improve the antenna system and add CW to his previously Digital operation he did in June 2024.
