Configuration of DX-Telnet 16 bit (Versions 4.8 to 5.2) to connect it with VQLog under Windows 95 or 98

If you are using version 5.4 or later of DXTelnet then click here.
If you are running Windows NT, 2000, ME or XP then click here.

With VQLog you can receive DX-Spots from several sources.(WEB-Cluster, DX-Cluster, Packet cluster, etc) and additionally filter only those meaning a new (or not confirmed) DXCC or locator for you.

Reception of DX-Spots is made through the excellent program DXTelnet by Fabrizio Sartoni, that must be running simultaneusly in the PC. Spots received by DXTelnet (DX-Plorer) are sent to VQLog via DDE for their processing.

IMPORTANT: The connection between VQLog and DXTelnet will only work with the registered version of DXTelnet 4.8 or later

DXTelnet can be found on Internet at:

Once the program is correctly configured an running in our PC, DX-Spots received are transfered to the corresponding window of VQLog, where they are filtered and processed. Communication between both programs is achieved via DDE.

Very special attention must be paid to the following configuration parameters of DX-Telnet:

(Function "Configuration - Links")

These parameters are case-sensitive so make sure you write them exactly as shown !

If you are using DXTelnet to connect to a DX-Cluster

(Function "Session - Site list", select your site and press button "Edit")

And also the following if you are using DX-Plorer (Web-Cluster connection)

(Function "Configuration - Web Cluster)

Because of the fact that DX-Telnet is still a 16-Bit application some incompatibilities could arise, avoiding the DDE communication (specially with Windows-NT, 2000 & ME). If after checking all configuration options you still don't get the DX-Spots received by DX-Telnet in the corresponding window of VQLog, please try using DDEDUPE
