Summary of activity for year 2006

All these summaries have been generated based on information provided by the VQLog program.

Overall:

As I did in the past year, in 2006 I have concentrated my activity on the 2m band and specially in EME (Moonbounce). I'm very satisfied with the performance of the 8x17 2M5WL array and it's great to be able to work single-yagi-100w stations easily via the Moon, even on random, thanks to the JT65B digital mode. I have also made some QSO on 50 MHz by Sporadic-E, but I haven't been really very active on six. I have beaten again my personal terrestrial distance record on two meters thanks to a 3066 km. sporadic-E QSO with RA6DA (KN96SA) and also achieved my best DX on 2m. Tropo with HA5OV (JN97NJ) over a distance of 1552 km.. I have also made my second EME QSO on 70 cm with K2UYH using a single 25 el. Yagi and 100w. Additionally I have made a very few QSO via satellite, using my fixed elevation antennas at home, I plan to setup a more decent satellite station in the coming years, as soon as some high-orbit satellite is launched. One of the most import goals achieved in 2006 was working the DXCC on 2m band, and now I proudly have the DXCC award #18 hanging on the wall of the radio shack.
