It is one of the highest mountains of the Sierra de Francia, which in turn is part of the Central System. Known for its Black Madonna and her great sanctuary, is almost inaccessible in winter due to snow. It has a large affluence of tourists during the summer months, many of them Christian pilgrims. In addition to the sanctuary, it has a guest house and a convent of friars. From the top, you can see all the plain of Campo Charro to the north, the Sierra de Tamames to the east, and Gabriel y Galán reservoir to the south, apart from the rest of the massif.
