Update December 5: Asociación de Radioaficionados de Venezuela will host a ZOOM meeting on December 11, 2021 at 1400 UTC, titled "Our experience in Galapagos - HD8R", with Antonio, EA5RM, one of the operators.

Update November 7: More than 100,000 QSO in they log.  They will go QRT today at midnight.

Update October 27: First QSO were made on October 25 at about 23:30 UTC on 15m CW. 


Update October 22: They leave Madrid towards Ecuador on the 24th and expect to arrive San Cristobal island at about 1900 UTC. They hope to to begin the operation on the 26th.


Update October 17: Some of the HD8R members will be QRV in the CQWW SSB contest.


Update October 2: The pilot station will be Tony, EC7ZK. They also plan activity in the low orbit satellites.

They will have at least 4 stations that include Spiderbeams, verticals, Inverted "Ls" and beverages.
Suggested frequencies are:

  CW   - 1824, 3524, 7004, 10104, 14024, 18074, 21024, 24894 and 28024 kHz
  SSB  - 1845, 3780, 7065/7160, 14195, 18145, 21295, 24945 and 28495 kHz
  RTTY - 14080 kHz
  FT8  - 1843, 3567, 5357, 7056, 10131, 14090, 18095, 21091, 24911 and 28095
  6m   - 50103/CW, 50103/SSB and 50313/FT8


Update September 22: A 24h FT8 beacon will be deployed on 50.313 for opening alert purposes. If there's an opening they will be on 50.103 cw or in FT8 if signals are not audible for human modes. 


EA1SA, EA5EL, EA5KA, EA5KM, EA5RM, EA7R, EA7X, F5CWU, F5NKX, F8ATS, HC5VF, HK6F, IK5RUN, IN3ZNR, EC7ZK and EA7KE will be QRV from San Cristobal Island, Galapagos Islands, SA-004, as HD8R from October 26 to November 7, 2021.

They will operate on 160-6m in CW, SSB and digital modes.
